AAUW Promotes Democracy in Petaluma - October Programs
T
his election year there are many challenges ahead for our local elected leaders. We will
each be very careful as we choose our leaders and vote on the initiatives on the ballot.
Traditionally our branch co-sponsors candidate forums for our community to aid our 
decision-making and once again we have stepped up to the plate to provide opportunities
for Petaluma residents to meet the candidates in person and hear how they stand on local
issues.  The event is free and open to the public.
Wednesday, October 1

The Candidate Forums will be broadcast on Petaluma Community Access Channel 28 (www.pca.tv) and can also be

specialConnie Mahoney Reading Room, with Connie as our hostess.  A discussion of the 
Day of the Dead art displays in the Library will follow.  Contact Dea or Patricia for a parking
label in order to park free or bring $3.00 for the parking meters. 
December 6th, 11:30 am: Traditional Holiday Luncheon at the Adobe Creek Golf Club. 
Topics to look forward to during 2009 are: “Let’s Get Organized,” “Petaluma Arts Council and
the New Depot Building,” and “Sonia Song, author of Donkey Baby—From Beijing to
Berkeley. “
