Petaluma as a farming and river community.

he March general meeting will be designated as the AAUW Petaluma Branch contribution to the Sesquicentennial
Celebration. A panel discussion on the role of women in Petaluma's 150 year history will be held. Our speakers and
topics include:
Marilyn Herzog, Internationally Recognized
Dairywoman and 30 year Fundraiser for the American Cancer
Society: Women in the Dairy Industry
Pru Draper, Cotati Historian and former Argus Courier columnist: Chicken Ranching
Katherine Flynn, Archaeological Resource Service: "Petaluma in Petticoats: a Brief History of Women
Entrepreneurs during the Sesquicentennial".
Marianne Hurley, Architectural Historian, California State Parks

Educational Foundation Update

hanks to all of you who sent in your Valentine donations to the Educational Foundation.
If you haven't, it's not too
late!
With your support, the Education Foundation, often referred to as the "heart" of AAUW, provides funds to
advance education, research and self-development for women and to foster equity and positive societal change.
Each
year, the Foundation provides about $4 million in fellowships, grants and awards for outstanding women around the
globe and for community action projects.
The Foundation also funds pioneering research on women, girls, and
education.
Funds raised through our Valentine Non-Event fundraiser support the National AAUW Foundation.
On the local level,
your contribution will support our endowment at Sonoma State University which is utilized to assist re-entry women with
